man, what a pain in the ass. I've never been a fan of that style of merc wagon though, rear end looks too flat and chunky.. Should have called jairo, he probably would have let his b5 1.8t manual wagon go.. He's been looking to get something else anyhow..

Benzo's comming along nicely.

Didnt mention in the original post, but I picked it up from a salvage auction for $1800, it was side swiped with damage to the driver side front bumper, fender, and 2 doors. Fixed it at my friends shop for under 2k, but its just an OK job, paint could have come out better, oh well... It had 98k miles, but with my daily commute from LBC to Topanga canyon, it now has 114K miles, but its been completely trouble free to my suprise. Knock on wood.

So far what I did to it: got OEM xenon lights, and hooked it up with the self leveling motors, headlight washers and all. Ordered euro moldings to delete the NA side markers, its at the shop right now getting painted. Fixed the OEM blaupunk (?) satnav, lowered the back air suspension, was ale to lower it pretty far, damn near tucking, now I have to cut the springs in the front cuz NO ONE makes springs for the W210 4Matic, only the RWD, but I need a special spring compressor cuz the autozone one doesnt fit between the tightly wound coils on the benz. Got a set of 18x8.5 et37 carlsson 1/12 repicas (rare as hell), got it for $120 of craigslist, but there curbed as hell, need refinishing, originaly wanted AMG monoblock aero II, but I like these better now, see pic below, they look like the old school benz rims, got a set of 15mm FF / 20mm RR spacers cuz the car got wide fenders, what else, got a Yakima lowrider rack system w/ 2 bike attachments thats in the mail, looking for a basket now, also a few other little things here and there.

I'll post pics once the front is slammed and rims are on.

not too shabby. Glad to see that its working out for you. When did you start working up in topanga? Last thing i knew you were working some gig near MDR so you were pretty happy to move to LB and avoid the nasty Hollywood to Beach commute.

I work at the same company but the boss moved the office to the valley to save money and piss off employees. 105mile round trip for me in bumper to bumper on the 405, damn near county line to county line, haha. Sitting 4 hours in the car daily I really appreciate the benz slushbox.

Jake do you guys still get together to wrench? I really want to cut a coil off the front springs on this thing cuz it looks really stupid with the reverse rake, and no one sells springs for the 4matic w210. From what I read up on, since the cars has 10+ coils on the spring and since the spring is a linear spring, its pretty safe and common practice on the benz board to cut 1 and a 1/2 off the coil to lower the car about 2" (4matics sit higher then the RWD to begin with) for an even stance. Only thing holding me back is that I dont have a die grinder or even a dremmel to cut the spring with. I dont think a hack saw would work. If you or Brendan have one, I'de gladly buy you a few carbite blades/disks if I could use it. Or if there another wrench day and you dont mine if I come bye lemme know! Thanks

I got the euro molding on now, I actually got it by accident, I ordered it for fixing the car from the salvage accident, but the part that showed up was the euro piece with out the side marker, no clue why. So I just ordered the other side from the same guy.

recent trip from big bear, I could lay the skiis flat inside, this car is long as hell.
